Fall 2026 Recertification and Retention Election Timeline

Date	Event
July 31	Employers can begin uploading a voter list.
August 14	EAB files the Notice of Intent to conduct an election.
August 19	Requests for contract extensions are due.
August 24	Last day for Employers to upload the voter list.
August 25	EAB issues notice for show cause hearings.
August 27	Employer Show Cause Hearings
August 31	Last day for the CEO to approve the voter list.
September 1	EAB issues notice for show cause hearings.
September 3	CEO Show Cause Hearings
September 9	EAB issues Notice of Election Fees.
September 18	Final day for the CEO to pay the election fee. Final day for the parties to finalize the voter list.
September 22	EAB files Notice to Conduct an Election.
October 13	Voting in the Fall Election begins.
October 27	Voting in the Fall Election ends.
November 6	Deadline for any post-election challenges.

10 or more	$2.00 per eligible voter

**Any overpayment or underpayment resulting from changes to the voter list due to the supplemental list, mutual agreement of parties, or challenges upheld by the Board will be handled pursuant to EAB subrule 621—15.1(1).

Make payment by check made out to the Employment Appeal Board.

If writing a check for an individual unit, please include the Certified Employee Organization’s name, employer’s name, and BU number on the check.

If writing one check for multiple units, attach a document with the check that lists the BU numbers, Employer Name, Certified Employee Organization name, number of employees in each unit, and the amount paid for each unit.
